Write ideas, thoughts, analysis to opening scene(s). Each journal entry/post should be 8-10 sentences and quote text. One of the four should be a critique of a scene from the drama viewed online.

Guidelines and Possible Topics

1. Always log on using your Bedford school account. Also write your blog entry into a word processing file FIRST (like Microsoft WORD) to ensure that you do not lose your work into cyber space. Then cut and paste it into the blog. To post an entry click on "comment" under the post. Each entry should b 8-10 sentences.

2. Thoughtfully engage the text. Make judgments about the characters and plot. Can you relate in any way to what you are reading? How? Do you recognize character traits, events, or details from your own life, a movie, television, or other literature?

3. Make an attempt to comment on the playwright’s style of writing. How does he convey information? Is it confusing? What style of diction does he use? Is it effective for the characters and the overall purpose?

4. Find literary devices and connect their use to overall purpose.

5. Comment on the historical context. In what ways does the time and place seem to affect the story?

6. Play director for a particular scene. How would you stage it or act it?

7. Ask questions. If you don’t understand something, maybe someone else does. Don’t be afraid to ask.

8. Edit and format your posts. Be attentive to proper grammar and conventions. This is an online discussion, but it is an intelligent and literate one. Don’t use “IM-speech” or abbreviations.

9. Type your full name at the end of each post so we know who wrote them.
